Drops & Shopping

A curated collection of 15–25 hand-engraved antique and vintage pieces, released on the first of each month. Each drop is themed around a literary work or author. Once every piece in a drop sells, that collection is closed forever — nothing is reprinted, restocked, or repeated.

Sign up for email notification on the Drops page — you'll receive a message the morning of each drop. We also announce on Instagram and TikTok in the days leading up to each release.

No. All pieces are released simultaneously to ensure every collector has an equal opportunity. There are no pre-orders, waitlists, or holds for drop items. Commissions, however, are an entirely separate offering — see Commission a Piece.

Never. Each design exists once on one object. When it sells, it is gone. We do not manufacture objects; we engrave antiques and vintage items. A restocked item would, by definition, be a different piece.

The Objects

Yes. All pieces are genuine antiques or vintage objects, sourced from estate sales, antique markets, and private collections. We do not engrave reproductions or newly manufactured items.

Some pieces are found and chosen — not engraved — and sold as-is because the object itself carries the right weight for the drop theme. A Curated Find is offered because the piece speaks without needing words added to it.

Music boxes, lockets, pocket watches, inkwells, letter openers, hand mirrors, snuff boxes, and other Victorian-era objects. Each drop has a theme that determines which types of objects are sourced. The object and the passage are chosen together — neither comes first.

Primarily the Gothic and Romantic canon: Keats, Shelley, Byron, Poe, Brontë, Stoker, Le Fanu, Wilde, Rossetti, Tennyson, and others. Occasionally folk tradition, epitaphs, and private correspondence when copyright permits. Each drop lists its specific sources.

Yes, entirely by hand. Every piece is engraved with a rotary tool — by hand, mark by mark — to ensure that the piece develops into its truest form, holding the meaning and weight of the words and icons engraved into it. No laser, no CNC machine, no digital template. Each mark is irreversible and deliberate.

Keep your piece away from prolonged moisture and direct sunlight. Polish gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid commercial metal cleaners, which may damage the engraving. Each piece ships with specific care instructions based on its material. For music boxes, wind conservatively to preserve the movement.

Commissions

Yes, absolutely. You can begin a commission inquiry at any time via our Commissions page. Describe your vision, the object you have in mind, and any text you'd like engraved — we'll respond within a few days with thoughts and a quote.

Yes, if you would like to commission a piece. For each drop, however, the pieces are curated and hand-engraved by our studio for the drop theme — the objects and passages are chosen together and are not open to requests.

Absolutely — most commission clients bring their own passage. Wedding vows, a poem, a line from a beloved book, a private letter. The text only needs to fit the object — we'll advise on length and formatting during the consultation.

3–6 weeks from the approval of the final design, depending on the complexity of the engraving and the sourcing requirements for the antique. Rush timelines may be possible in some cases — ask during consultation.

Pricing is determined by the size of the item, your budget, and the time needed to source and engrave the piece. You'll receive a full, itemised quote before any work begins or payment is taken. There is no obligation after the initial consultation.
